Artificial Grass Installation in Kyle, TX

Most Kyle yards are small, fenced, and planted with whatever sod the builder put down. Between the clay underneath, the watering schedule, and the shade thrown by a six-foot privacy fence, that grass rarely gets a fair chance. Artificial grass gives you the lawn the yard was supposed to have. Kyle Turf Pros installs it from start to finish, and it stays green and usable in every season.

We install turf in front yards, backyards, side yards, and around pools and patios. A narrow side strip gets the same excavation and base work as a full backyard, because skipping it is how turf ends up with dips and puddles.

What Changes When You Switch to Artificial Grass

  • The lawn stays green. It's the same color in January and August, in full sun and along the shady fence line.
  • The water bill drops. No sprinkler zones for the lawn means lower usage, and drought stages stop deciding how your yard looks. The EPA's WaterSense program explains how much household water goes to landscape irrigation.
  • Saturdays open up. You can sell the mower, the trimmer, and the spreader.
  • The mud goes away. Water drains through instead of pooling on clay, so shoes and paws come in clean.
  • The house looks finished. A neat, even lawn sharpens the whole front of the home.

Where We Install Turf at Kyle Homes

Front yards. Small front lawns are a lot of mowing for a little grass. Turf keeps them tidy, with clean edges along the walk, driveway, and beds.

Backyards. A level, soft surface for grilling, playing, and going barefoot. Many homeowners add a putting green or a dog area in the same project.

Side yards. The strip between your house and the neighbor's fence is usually shade and mud. Turf makes it a clean path you'll actually use.

Pools and patios. Turf gives you a green border beside concrete and stone, and it keeps soil and mulch out of the pool.

How We Install Artificial Grass

  1. Step 1

    Measure and plan

We measure the yard, watch where water flows, and help you choose a turf.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the lawn

Grass, weeds, and several inches of soil are dug out and taken away.

  3. Step 3

    Build the base

Crushed rock goes in, gets graded away from the foundation, and is compacted. Weed barrier goes down where it helps.

  4. Step 4

    Lay the turf

We roll out the turf, cut it to the borders, blend the seams, and secure the edges.

  5. Step 5

    Infill and groom

Infill is spread to weigh the turf down and support the blades, and a power brush lifts the pile.

Choosing the Right Turf

Turf isn't one product. Pile height, blade shape, color blend, and the amount of thatch all affect how it looks from the street and how it feels underfoot. Shorter, denser turf is the better choice for play areas and busy paths. Taller, fuller turf gives a front yard a lush, freshly mowed look. We bring samples to the estimate so you can set them on your own ground and see them in your own light.

Kyle backyards tend to be open and sunny, so we usually suggest turf with UV protection and heat-reducing features. It holds its color longer and is easier on bare feet in July.

New Homes and Builder Lawns

A lot of calls come from homeowners a year or two into a new house. The builder's sod went down on compacted clay with very little topsoil, the first summer thinned it out, and now there are bare patches along the fence and by the gate.

That's a good time to switch. The yard is still a blank slate, the irrigation is easy to adjust, and you haven't spent years paying to keep a struggling lawn going. We can turf the whole backyard or start with the area that gives you the most trouble.

If your neighborhood has an HOA, we'll provide the samples and specifications you need for approval before any work is scheduled.

Turf With Pavers, Stone, and Concrete

Turf and hardscape look good together. Turf strips between oversized pavers, stepping stones across a green lawn, and a turf apron around a pool deck are all common requests.

The edges make or break it. We cut turf snug to stone and concrete so no gaps show, and we install steel, stone, or concrete edging where turf meets a bed. The edging holds mulch and soil back and gives the lawn a crisp outline.

Sprinklers, Drainage, and Trees

Sprinklers. The zones that watered your grass aren't needed anymore. We cap or relocate heads in the turf area and leave the ones serving your beds, shrubs, and trees.

Drainage. Turf lets water through, so where that water goes depends on the base. On Kyle's clay, water soaks in slowly. We grade the base to carry runoff away from the slab and toward the street, a swale, or a drain.

Trees. Grass struggles under live oaks and cedar elms, and in the shadow of the house. Turf doesn't need sunlight. We fit it around trunks, leave the root flare open, and keep the tree's irrigation working.

Artificial Grass FAQs

How much does artificial grass installation cost in Kyle?

It depends on the square footage, the turf you choose, and the prep the site needs. We measure first and then give you a free, itemized quote.

Can artificial grass go on a slope?

Yes. A sloped yard needs more attention to the base and to anchoring, and we include that in the estimate.

Will weeds grow through artificial grass?

Very few. The compacted base and weed barrier stop most growth. An occasional weed at the edge pulls out by hand.

Can I turf only part of my yard?

Yes. Plenty of homeowners start with a side yard, a dog area, or the patch that never grows, and add more later.

What happens to my sprinkler system?

We cap or move the heads in the turf area. The zones that water beds, shrubs, and trees keep running.

Does artificial grass work around a pool?

Yes. It drains quickly, gives you a soft edge next to the deck, and keeps dirt and mulch out of the water.
